Introduction
This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are. Your data is hosted in Europe, in compliance with the GDPR.
Data we collect
• Device identifier: an anonymous identifier is generated on the first launch to authenticate your requests.
• Nutritional data: the foods, meals, and goals you log. Stored on your device, and on our servers if you create an account.
• Searches: search terms and scanned barcodes are sent to our server to find matching foods.
• Account data (optional): email address if you create an account via Apple or Google.
• Subscription: managed by RevenueCat. We do not receive your payment information.
• Usage data: we analyze app usage to improve it (interactions, errors, in-app surveys). This data is hosted in Europe.
How we use your data
Your data is used to:
• Provide the app's features.
• Sync your data across your devices (if you have an account).
• Improve the app and fix errors.
• Manage your subscription.
We never sell your data. We do not display any ads.
Third-party services
• RevenueCat: subscription management (revenuecat.com/privacy).
• PostHog: usage analytics, hosted in Europe.
• Apple / Google: optional authentication.
Storage and security
Your data is stored locally on your device. If you create an account, it is also stored on our secure servers in Europe.
Communications between the app and our servers are encrypted.
Data retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
Upon account deletion, your data is immediately removed from our servers.
Usage data is retained for 12 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can:
• Access your personal data.
• Rectify your data.
• Delete your data (available in the app).
